How the Program Works
- 400-hour research project conducted over a 10-week period.
- Project begins in late May and ends in early August.
- Schedule is mutually defined and agreed upon by the student and mentor.
- Work is expected to take place during typical business hours (Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm).
- Research is designed to be conducted on campus at UMB, UMCP, or at the MDH.
- Delivery format may be hybrid (remote and in-person) or fully in-person, as defined by the faculty mentor.
- Selected students will receive a stiped for their work, paid in multiple installments over the 10 weeks.
- Undergraduate students receive $5,500; Graduate students receive $6,500.
- Students must be enrolled in the Fall semester to be considered.
- The program is competitive; applicants are not guaranteed placement or an interview.
- Each project has a unique application and selection process.
- Students and mentors may be asked to complete evaluation materials at the end of the experience.
