Created in 2020 in response to an overwhelming need for advanced training in leadership, policy, and law for first responders, personnel in law enforcement, social services, and other public safety professions.

Developed by faculty from UMCP’s College of Behavioral and Social Sciences’ departments of sociology, criminology, and criminal justice, and UMB’s Francis King Carey School of Law, the program is now in its third year.
