School of Social Work at Shady Grove
The School of Social Work (SSW) at UMB expanded the Master of Social Work (MSW) program at the Universities at Shady Grove (USG) in Rockville in the fall semester of 2014. The School of Social Work had been offering a portion of the master’s program at USG for nearly 30 years. However, there was a strong demand for SSW to have the complete MSW program there due to an increasing pool of applicants from the Montgomery County area, growth in undergraduate students from USG interested in continuing into the MSW program, and increased need for graduate level social workers in behavioral health settings in Montgomery County.
