About
Launched in Fall 2025, the MPower Early Scholars Investment Fund is a forward-looking investment designed to protect and strengthen the next generation of researchers. This program provides targeted support for both UMB and UMCP PhD students, post-docs, and junior faculty impacted by recent cuts to research funding. In addition, this short-term, high-impact initiative is designed to sustain the scholar pipeline and protect the University of Maryland’s joint research enterprise.
Recognizing that each university has distinct needs and faces unique challenges, there are separate application processes for UMB and UMCP – as shown below.
